Robin Abraham, Running Backs Coach
The dean of the Minnesota State Moorhead football coaching council, Robin Abraham begins his 35th season as assistant coach this fall with a new assignment as runningbacks coach. A starting middle linebacker at State as an undergraduate, Abraham has coached MSU Moorhead varsity linebackers since 1975 after two seasons with the MSUM junior varsity.
An assistant under four different head coaches, Abraham has tutored nine All-American linebackers during his career at MSUM. He joined the Dragons in 1971 after two seasons at Mesabi Community College. A two-year letterman at MSUM, Abraham was a first team All-Northern Intercollegiate Conference middle linebacker as a senior and helped the Dragons forge a 14-4-1 overall record as an undergraduate.
A 1969 graduate of Cloquet High School, Abraham lettered in football, basketball and track. He was elected Lumberjack football captain and earned all-district basketball honors as a senior.
In addition to his football duties, Abraham serves as MSUM equipment manager. He is also active in Moorhead youth basketball program in the off-season. Robin and his wife, Kathy, have two daughters, Jethe and Amber, a former starting guard at Arkansas State University.
Abraham received the Distinguished Service Award at the 1991 Dragon Homecoming celebration.
