Kirk Peterson, Defensive Line Coach
It’s a homecoming of sorts for new defensive line coach Kirk Peterson. A 2005 graduate of MSU Moorhead, Peterson was named the winner of the Vincent Yatchak Award as Most Valuable Player as a senior.
A fixture on the Dragon defensive front, Peterson was a two-time winner of the Dr. Marvin Geib Award as the Most Dedicated Dragon.
A three-year letterwinner and co-captain as a senior, Peterson transferred to MSU Moorhead after a stop at Northland Community College. He lettered in football (3) and wrestling (4) at Pelican Rapids High School and was a two-sport captain. He was also decorated as the most Valuable Defensive Linemen in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference as a senior. Peterson also captured a HOL individual wrestling championship.
Peterson received a Physical Education degree at Minnesota State Moorhead.
