Dave Bergstrom, Assitant Coach
A member of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Dragon Halls of Fame and a major player on the national track landscape as an undergraduate at Minnesota State Moorhead, Dave Bergstrom begins his fourth year as assistant coach in charge of the high jumpers at MSUM in 2008.
The Albert Lea native captured a pair of national high jump championships and earned six All-America certificates at State. He swept national high jump titles in 1979 at the NAIA Indoor and NCAA Division II Outdoor. Bergstrom also placed second on the national stage three times.
A four-year letterman at State, he was elected captain as a senior and voted Most Valuable Fieldman. A 1993 inductee into the Dragon Hall of Fame, Bergstrom was enshrined in the NSIC Hall of Fame in 2006. He still holds the MSUM outdoor (7-1 ¾) high jump record.
Bergstrom is an actuary in Fargo, ND.
