Cley Twigg, Assitant Coach
A major factor in the long distance improvement at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Cley Twigg returns for a second year as an assistant cross-country and track coach at MSUM.
Twigg spent six years as head cross-country and track coach at Jordan High School in Sandy, UT, before joining the Dragon staff in 2006. He led the Beetdiggers to the 2005 Utah State AAAAA boys’ cross-country title, the first ever at Jordan in over 100 years.
A 1997 graduate of Bemidji State, Twigg was a four-year track letterman. He earned All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference honors outdoors for the Beavers and was a two-time steeplechase champion. He was also a provisional qualifier for the NCAA II National Outdoor in the steeplechase as a senior.
A native of Crosby, Twigg competed in cross-country, basketball and track at Crosby-Ironton High School and qualified for state titles in all three sports. He was an all-state selection in cross-country and track and finished 15th in the state cross-country championships and third in the 1600 meters. He was a three-time All-Mid-State Conference choice in cross-country and a conference champion in 1990. A four-time all-conference track champion, he earned six all-conference honors.
