Brandon Lemer, Defensive Coordinator/Inside Linebacker Coach
The Dragon defense is in new hands. A onetime assistant coach at North Dakota State College of Science and Mayville State University, Brandon Lemer was named defensive coordinator and inside linebacker coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead in July.
Lemer spent last season as defensive coordinator for the Wildcats. The Harvey, ND native served as linebacker coach and strength and conditioning coach at NDSCS following one season as wide receiver coach at Mayville State.
Lemer was a two-year starter at tight end at Jamestown College and was an honorable mention All-DAC 10 Conference pick as a senior in 2004. Lemer also wrestled for the Jimmies and was a three-time NAIA placewinner. Lemer transferred to Jamestown from University of North Dakota and was a member of UND’s NCAA Division II National Championship team of 2001.
A graduate of Harvey High School, Lemer lettered in football, wrestling and baseball. A two-time North Dakota All-State selection in football, he helped the Hornets win a state championship as a junior. He was a state wrestling champion as a junior and senior and a two-time all-district baseball pick as well.
Lemer received his Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Exercise Science from North Dakota State University in 2006. In addition to his coaching duties at MSU Moorhead, Lemer is an instructor in the Health/Physical Education Department and a member of the AFCA and FCA.
