Andrea Scott, Head Trainer
Chief caretaker of the highly respected sports medicine program at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Andy Scott begins her ninth year as head athletic trainer at MSUM in 2007. Scott was appointed head athletic trainer at MSUM in 1999, replacing legendary Sam Booth. She was promoted to the head post at State after four seasons as assistant athletic trainer.
Prior to returning to MSU Moorhead, Scott spent two years as assistant trainer and instructor at Winona State University from 1993-95. Certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Scott provides quality support for a staff of nearly 20 student athletic trainers, and also serves as a test site administrator for the NATA Board of Certification.
A native of New York Mills, Scott is a 1992 graduate of MSU Moorhead and a former softball letterwinner. She earned several undergraduate and graduate scholarships, including the Steve Bowman Memorial Scholarship, the Swedo-O Universal Scholarship, the NATA Undergraduate and NATA Graduate Scholarships, the MSUM Academic Achievement Award, and the Great Lakes Trainers’ Association scholarship.
Scott earned a Master’s Degree from West Virginia University in 1993.
