| [ 01.16.08 ] DRAGONS RECEIVE MAJOR SOCCER AWARDS According to MSU Moorhead women's soccer coach Rollie Bulock, the Dragons have received two significant team award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, including the 2007 College Team Academic Award and the NSCAA Bronze Team Ethics Award. MSUM earned a third straight academic award for a combined GPA of 3.29. The Dragons were one of 297 women's teams to receive the award, joining NSIC members Northern State, Southwest Minnesota State and Upper Iowa. In all, 59 teams received the Team Ethics Award which recognizes fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game as reflected by the number of yellow cards or red ejection cards they are shown during the season. The Dragons received a total of seven yellow cards and no red cards during the 2007 season. |

MSUM ambushed Upper Iowa 1-0 on Wednesday and sidelined favored host Northern State with a 6-5 shootout victory on Saturday. Minnesota State Moorhead shocked Upper Iowa University 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in the opening round of the 2007 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's soccer playoffs.
