BURGER KING AWARD

Developed to foster the pursuit of athletic and academic excellence while encouraging social awareness, the Burger King Corporation annually salutes the top scholar-athletes in NCAA Division II with the Burger King Award. In recognition of each player's achievements, Burger King donates $10,000 in the athlete's name to his university general scholarship fund. Previous Dragon winners include:

NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION / COLLEGE HALL OF FAME

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame has honored the greats of the game since 1947, and salutes the finest players in NCAA Division II with National Scholar-Athlete awards. The most prestigious honor given to senior scholar-athletes, the award includes an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship and is presented at the annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, NY. WOODY HAYES AWARD

Named after the legendary football coach at Ohio State University, the Woody Hayes National Scholar Athlete Award is presented annually to the tip Scholar-Athlete in NCAA Division II football. Created as a living memorial to Hayes by the University Sertoma Club of Columbus, OH, the Woody Hayes Award salutes a special player with demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics and community service. THE VINCENT YATCHAK AWARD

. . . is given each year to the Most Valuable Football Player at Moorhead State University. The award is named for Vincent Yatchak, na outstanding football player at Moorhead State during his cillegiate career and twice an all-conference selection. Yatchak was killed by a sniper's bullet shortly before the end of World War II. Interested alumni of Moorhead State asked that this award be given annually to the outstanding Dragon football player.
