| [ 05.05.08 ] LONG, ROEMER NAMED MSUM ATHLETES OF THE YEAR Senior quarterback Dustin Long and junior cross-country and track standout Ashley Roemer have been voted Minnesota State Moorhead Student-Athletes of the Year for 2007-08. A two-time national Offensive Player of the Year, Long was named the Dragons' football MVP, the Offensive Player of the Year in the NSIC and set a batch of game, season and career passing records at MSUM. Roemer is a cross-country and track All-NSIC Academic selection at MSUM and recently established new NSIC and MSU Moorhead records of 4,755 points in the heptathlon. She has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 800 meters and is currently ranked fourth nationally. . . |

| [ 11.29.07 ] DRAGON-COBBER FOOTBALL RIVALRY PUT ON HOLD Because of scheduling conflicts, backyard rivals Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College will not meet in 2008. The joint announcement was made by both schools today, putting on hold one of the oldest rivalries in college football. The series dates to 1920 and the Moorhead neighbors have met every fall except the war years of 1943-45.
