| [ 05.05.08 ] LONG, ROEMER NAMED MSUM ATHLETES OF THE YEAR Senior quarterback Dustin Long and junior cross-country and track standout Ashley Roemer have been voted Minnesota State Moorhead Student-Athletes of the Year for 2007-08. A two-time national Offensive Player of the Year, Long was named the Dragons' football MVP, the Offensive Player of the Year in the NSIC and set a batch of game, season and career passing records at MSUM. Roemer is a cross-country and track All-NSIC Academic selection at MSUM and recently established new NSIC and MSU Moorhead records of 4,755 points in the heptathlon. She has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 800 meters and is currently ranked fourth nationally. . . |

| [ 11.29.07 ] DRAGON-COBBER FOOTBALL RIVALRY PUT ON HOLD Because of scheduling conflicts, backyard rivals Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College will not meet in 2008. The joint announcement was made by both schools today, putting on hold one of the oldest rivalries in college football. The series dates to 1920 and the Moorhead neighbors have met every fall except the war years of 1943-45. The Dragons' 2008 schedule, including an expanded 10-game Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference slate, will be announced in the near future. . . |

| [ 11.03.07 ] GOLDEN EAGLES EXTEND DRAGONS' FOOTBALL MISERY University of Minnesota, Crookston rolled 43 yards on four plays, including a 20-yard game-winning touchdown strike from David White to Jordan Grafsgaard, to rescue a dramatic 42-38 last second victory at Alex Nemzek Field on Saturday. Dustin Long completed 29 of 44 passes for 392 yards and five touchdowns and Jabari Taylor turned 11 receptions into 145 yards and two TDs for the Dragons, but MSUM fell for a fifth straight time and dropped to 3-7 overall and 2-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Dragon senior quarterback Dustin Long set new single game marks for pass attempts, 57, pass completions, 34, and yards gained passing, 440, and tossed four touchdown passes as well. Three Dragon receivers reached the 100-yard plateau, and Jabari Taylor and Bert Smith had 10 receptions each.
