DRAGON CROSS COUNTRY

Season Outlook

2007

After winning its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship in 14 years, Minnesota State Moorhead will eye back-to-back championships for the first time in 17 years and seek a 15th team title in 2007. Junior Kyle Eckhoff (Willmar), a two-time All-NSIC performer, could become the first Dragon to claim all-conference honors three straight years since Dan Feda in 1994. Eckhoff should also contend for the NSIC individual title along with teammates junior Scott Egeberg (Valley City, ND) and sophomore Adam Kne (Moorhead). Senior captain Dustin Lillegaard (Bagley), junior David Teige (Poplar, WI), and senior Leighton Reuss (Montevideo) could also contend for all-conference honors. The Dragons added talented freshmen Erik Hansen (Moorhead) and Kels Moreland (Lake Nebagamon, WI), and both should contribute immediately. Other runners looking to contribute are juniors Chris Sherve (Blaine), Erik Hest (Moorhead), sophomores Wes Holtman (East Grand Forks), Jim Fay (Hugo) and freshman Michael McConnell (Rice).
