Present: Tim Borchers, chair, Richard Adler, Amy Phillips, Alison Wallace, Stacy Voeller

Absent: Ted Gracyk, Cassie Kramer, Jody Mattern, Peggy Rittenhouse, Jean Sando,  

Minutes: Moved by Voeller, seconded by Wallace to approve the November 29, 2007 minutes. The motion was approved unanimously.

Announcements:

  • Borchers announced that he has met with 12 departments/programs to present SLOAC’s review of their assessment plans and/or reports. He has six additional meetings scheduled this week.
  • Approximately 13 reports are still outstanding, including five from the School of Teaching and Learning. It was suggested since the NCATE visit has been postponed to spring 2009; those programs should complete an Accredited Program Cover Sheet.
  • None of the graduate programs have submitted reports.

Social Work IIG Report: The Instructional Improvement Grant Report from Social Work was presented.

Review of Assessment Reports and Revised Assessment Plans: Committee members presented reports on review of assigned program/department assessment reports and plans. Members were reminded to send comments (3-5 sentences) regarding their respective reviews to Borchers and Marla Smith. To ensure consistency it was suggested members review the same reports/plans next year.

Revised SLOs: Moved by Phillips, seconded by Voeller to approve Anthropology’s revised Student Learning Outcomes. The motion was approved unanimously.

Thank you: Phillips was thanked for her service to the committee and best wishes extended on her move to UND. Borchers was thanked for his service as a member and chair of the committee.
