Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee Minutes August 28, 2006 10:00 a.m. Present: Tim Borchers, chair; Ted Gracyk, Jody Mattern, Amy Phillips, Peggy Rittenhouse, Stacy Voeller, Alison Wallace The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m. Minutes: Moved by Rittenhouse, seconded by Phillips to approve the May 10, 2006 minutes. The motion was approved unanimously. Website Updates: Borchers reviewed the SLOAC website layout with regard to links for department/program assessment plans and reports. He stated that each department/program will have a cover sheet page with links to the various documents and data. Committee Membership: Last year’s student member, Cassie Kramer, needs to be replaced. The committee structure calls for two students, one in arts and sciences and one from the professional programs. Members are to submit names of students interested in serving on the committee to Borchers who will forward to the Student Senate for official appointment. Revised SLOAC Guide: The revised SLOAC Guide was reviewed and additional suggestions will be incorporated. It is anticipated the guide will be ready for campus distribution within a week. SLOAC Report: The draft report prepared for Vice President Midgarden was reviewed and discussed. Suggested revisions will be incorporated and the final report for 2005-2006 will be submitted. Forms: Borchers reviewed the reporting forms (plan and report) and noted where suggestions made last spring were integrated. Additional changes were suggested and will be included. The Instructional Improvement Grant Application form along with the review forms for assessment plans and reports were also reviewed and suggestions will be included. Distribution of Plans and Reports: Members agreed to divide into pairs to review the following reports:
The subgroups will report
at the next scheduled meeting. The deadline for departments/programs to
submit plans and reports is October 31, 2006. As plans/reports are received
they will be assigned to the subgroups for review. Next meeting: 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2006 in BR 250B. The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m. |
