MSUM Mission & Learning Goals

The mission of MSUM is to foster excellence in teaching and learning.

Purpose/Statement
Elementary & Early Childhood Department Goal #5 asserts that we will “meet the needs of local schools and teachers for professional development and continuing education opportunities…”

This goal meshes with MSUM Institutional Goal I.1, “MSUM will create and support a learning environment that inspires students to reach their full potential.”

The Reading Program submitted its first Assessment Plan less than a year ago. It was approved in April 2003. To show progress toward meeting graduate student teachers’ need for a learning environment that inspires students to reach their full potential,” programmatic information for the Reading Master’s follows in tabular form. Some but not all professors collected individual assessment data from classes. This is reported in individual tables by course and aggregated by assignment type.
