DESIRED STUDENT OUTCOMES
Students who graduate from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a major from the Business Administration Department should be able to:

  1. Effectively present information and views in writing.

  2. Effectively present information and views orally in a group setting.

  3. Work together effectively in teams or project groups.

  4. Utilize the tools appropriate to their discipline.

  5. Effectively use technologies appropriate to their discipline.

  6. Understand the global nature of business.

  7. Understand the culturally diverse nature of business.

  8. Identify ethical issues in a professional context.


ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

  1. An assessment survey of graduating seniors will be administered each term.  The survey contains questions that match Business Core as well as departmental goals and objectives.    A separate survey exists for each major and includes sections on 1) skill development, such as oral communication, written, problem-solving, research, business leadership, diversity, ethics, computers; and 2) knowledge acquisition, includes items on specific areas of knowledge we expect each major to acquire through their major courses (this is the section that will be different for each of the majors). 

  2. Administer an alumni telephone survey in every other spring semester beginning Spring 2002.  This survey was first administered during spring semester of 1998.   The survey addresses career preparation and satisfaction with accounting and business programs.

  3. ETS exam administered Spring 2001 and every other spring semester.
