Trygve Olson graduated with his BA in studio art from St. Cloud State University, in 1974. Since 1984 he has been providing The Forum newspaper with illustrations and editorial cartoons.  In 1999, 2001 and 2005 his editorial cartoons received first-place in the Minnesota Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

His work has been reproduced in research papers of the North Dakota State University, University of Minnesota and Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). His editorial cartoons are in the collections of the Oklahoma Memorial Museum (Oklahoma City), the Forbes corporate headquarters (NYC) and President’s Office of North Dakota State University (Fargo). 

He exhibits his art on a regular basis at the Rourke Art Museum, Moorhead and Fergus Falls (MN) Community College. Since 1998 he has been an adjunct faculty member at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
