Lana Leishman earned her BFA with an emphasis in Photography from Utah State University. She furthered her education by earning a MFA with an emphasis in Photography and Installation Art from Washington State.

She joined the faculty of Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2003. She teaches courses in digital, traditional photographic, and alternative processes.
