There are many student organizations on campus. Current listings and information about them can be found in the Office of Student Activities located in CMU 229, (218) 477-2790, or by visiting the web site at www.mnstate.edu/osa Current Art Organizations The Photography Guild is composed of and operated entirely by students, and guided by a faculty advisor. It is a professionally-oriented organization dedicated to promoting an understanding and appreciation of photography. The membership is made up of students of Minnesota State University Moorhead and residents of the Fargo-Moorhead area. Organizational objectives are achieved through exhibitions, seminars, lectures, and other related activities and events in the photographic arts.
Students operate this organization with assistance from a faculty advisor. The purpose of this organization is to promote interest in ceramic arts with out-of-class experiences related to the ceramic arts. This is achieved through special events, visits to ceramic artists' studios, attending gallery/museum exhibitions, art sales, and lectures.
The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) is a national organization dedicated to promoting graphic design as a professional occupation. The AIGA encourages the highest level of professional conduct in design. Design students are invited to become student members as they prepare for design practice, with a long-term goal of continuing personal and creative growth.
Students may join the Life Drawing Co-op each semester, which requires a fee to participate. The Co-op provides the opportunity to work from live models outside of the regular classroom setting. The Co-op is student-run. |
