The following policies pertain to students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Department of Art and Design. Additional university regulations govern the use of the art facility. If you have questions concerning use of the facilities, participation in department programs, or any other issues pertaining to the department, please contact the Administrative Assistants in the main office of the Department of Art and Design.

Use of the Facilities and Equipment of the Department of Art and Design

Use of all facilities within the Department of Art and Design is restricted to faculty and staff of the department, and to students registered for classes in the Department of Art and Design. Others wishing to use department facilities (including former students, faculty and staff) must request and receive permission from the responsible faculty member (in the case of specific studio or classroom spaces), or staff member (in the case of the Machine Shop or other facilities). In addition, use of classroom and studio space for group activities must be scheduled ahead of time through the department and through appropriate university channels.

We reserve the right to deny access to the facilities and equipment of the department as necessary for reasons of safety, space limitations, equipment limitations, staff and faculty time restrictions, or facility security.

Those using department studios, classrooms, or equipment must abide by all applicable rules and regulations regarding the use of the space or equipment.

Under no circumstances will use of the facilities and equipment of the Department of Art and Design by those outside of the department be allowed to interfere with the regular activities of the department, including classes, tutorials, critiques, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and other departmental or university activities.
