Mr. Walz was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 1954 for the 65th District (Becker, Hubbard, Mahnomen and Clearwater counties). He served on various committees during his three terms. Papers include correspondence, bills, reports, committee material, speeches, press releases, and scrapbook copy.

The West Central Regional Development Center Commission was established in 1973 to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefits, and coordinating programs for sound area-wide development. Included in the records are annual handbooks, economic development programs, and individual county program planning manuals.

WESTERN MINNESOTA STEAM THRESHERS REUNION. HANDBOOKS, 1965- . 5 in. S4936 (See Inventory)
Annual handbooks containing programs of the yearly gathering in Rollag, Minnesota, an event devoted to the display and restoration of steam-powered farm equipment. The handbooks also contain membership news about the Steam Threshers organization, articles about various pieces of equipment, and miscellaneous items about steam equipment.

This collection contains a personal reminiscence of the history of the Swedish Lutheran Bethesda Congregation, Moorhead, Dakota Territory, a personal reminiscence of her "Gram" and a letter written to Don Westrum dealing with the boyhood of his grandfather, who lived in Moorhead.

WHITE EARTH RESERVATION.  RECORDS OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR INVESTIGATION OF THE RESERVATION, 1911-1912.  2 rolls of microfilm.   S5012. (See Inventory).
Transcripts of testimony taken at the White Earth Reservation in 1911-1912, together with supporting documents and a report of an investigation, compiled by the Department of the Interior.  The documents concern a dispute on the Reservation over the distribution of  timber payments and which Chippewa (Ojibwa) were officially listed as members of the Reservation.  The final report of the Department of the Interior on this investigation is in the US Serial Set, 62nd Congress, 3rd Session, House Report 1336.   (MHS Microfilm 444).

Mr. Wohlwend was a state representative for Moorhead in Minnesota from 1972-74. This collection contains papers related to his years in the state legislature.

The WCTU is an organization of Christian women bonded together for the protection of the home and the abolition of the liquor traffic. Records include a history of the chapter, membership lists, meeting minutes, treasurer's books, and WCTU of Minnesota year books.

Records of the local, Julia D. Nelson Chapter, including minute books for both local and district meetings, financial ledgers, correspondence, and WCTU literature. A survey of alcohol use in Fargo, conducted by the local WCTU in March 1940, is of special interest.

The Network acts as an umbrella organization to coordinate groups committed to full equality for women. Records include articles of incorporation, by-laws, meeting minutes, correspondence, and membership directories.

The Women's Study Club of Hawley was organized in 1921. This collection consists of fifty-three yearly program booklets and one song booklet.

The Woodman Lodge was located in Hitterdal and was part of a larger organization, The Modern Woodman of America. This lodge began in 1920 as Camp 1542. The records include by-laws, rituals, transfer records, membership lists, and death notices.

This collection contains five booklets which were compiled through the Minnesota WPA Writers Project. Three booklets relate to county histories (Kittson, Marshall, Otter Tail), another deals with the Judicial Districts of Minnesota, and the last booklet is an inventory of World War I emergency activities in Minnesota.

This collection contains one scrapbook of newspaper clippings and magazine articles regarding World War II plus two booklets pertaining to Pearl Harbor and Iwo Jima.
