HISTORICAL SKETCH

Materials collected by Dr. Margaret Reed of the Moorhead State University Department of Social Work, between 1965 and 1982, for a planned history of social service agencies (never written).  Dr. Reed served on the boards of many such agencies in Fargo-Moorhead [North Dakota-Minnesota] during this period. 

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
The collection contains records for a number of agencies, including the Center for Parents and Children, the Clay County Youth Council, United Fund, United Way, Volunteers for Community Service, and the F-M Community.  Records for these agencies include board agendas and minutes, correspondence, budgets, membership lists, social service studies, and newspaper clippings.  Also included are 30 transcribed interviews regarding social services in the F-M area.  All materials are in good condition.
