HISTORICAL SKETCH

The Altrusa Club of Moorhead, Minnesota, was established on March 26, 1960 as part of the Altrusa International Club network.  The purpose of the organization is twofold.  One, to afford a main channel through which executive, business, and professional women representing a wide variety of occupational fields but with similar civic motivations, can work together thereby making possible the promotion of their common interests, and more effectively make a contribution of their combined services to civic, national, and international understanding and betterment.  Secondly, to extend the field for friendship and contacts among professional women beyond the bounds of their own professional groups.

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
The records of the Moorhead Altrusa Club include correspondence, minutes, newsletters, reports, and scrapbooks.  The minutes detail the monthly agenda and discussions of club projects. Yearbooks include the agendas of the club.
