Expanding Your Horizons

The Expanding Your Horizons program is an effort to overcome a history of limited participation by women in careers involving the sciences and mathematics and is focused, therefore, on developing the career interests of junior high girls.

Conference Goals:
To increase young women's interest in mathematics and science
To foster awareness of career opportunities for women in mathematics and science-related fields
To provide students an opportunity to meet and form personal contacts with women in working in traditionally male occupations
To alleviate the isolation of young women who are interested in science and mathematics

Each Annual Conference is the joint effort of Moorhead State University, Concordia College, the VA Medical Center and North Dakota State University faculty and staff.

Young women come to our campuses from across the Tri-State area for a hands-on experience in a variety of technical and scientific careers. The presenters make every effort to assist the participants in accomplishing the workshop goals on their own.
