Our program’s curriculum (enclosed) is designed to meet the pre-professional requirements of the Program of Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota and other similar programs in the region. Students may complete two years of academic work at MSUM and then enter a professional program at the start of their junior year. Some students elect to complete a Biology Degree prior to entering a professional training program.

A career in the funeral service area is not one that generally appeals to a wide audience. Students inquiring about our pre-professional program usually know someone working as a funeral director and have some knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the funeral service professional.
