Assessment Tests Policy

The Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system now requires all universities follow a statewide placement policy. At MSUM we will place students according to ACT scores in appropriate courses for mathematics and English. Students with an ACT math score of 20 or below will be required to take an Accuplacer exam. For information on how to schedule your exam, please contact the Academic Testing Center at 218.477.2426. Students must complete the required assessment exams in order to register for classes at their Dragon Day.

Choosing Your Academic Major

Your group assignment for advising and registration will be made according to your major. If you have not chosen your academic major, do not worry. For students who have not declared a major, undeclared advisors are there to help! If you have chosen a major and the enclosed reservation card lists an incorrect major, please correct it.
