All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form which can be found in your high school counselor's office or you may choose to click the following link: FAFSA online application to apply online. You may fill out the FAFSA anytime after January 1, but should have it submitted before February 15 for priority funding. MSU Moorhead's Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid is available to assist with any questions regarding the financial aid process.
Scholarships
MSUM values students who are committed to a quality education. We award scholarships for academic achievement and exceptional talent (art, music, speech, theater, and athletics). Automatic scholarships are awarded on a first-applied, first-admitted basis (subject to availability of funds) to new freshmen students who are admitted and meet academic qualifications.
Reciprocity Application
Reciprocity agreements with North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin allow students from these states to attend MSUM at comparable in-state rates. North and South Dakota freshmen automatically receive reciprocity if they enter MSUM within a 12-month period after high school graduation. Freshmen from Wisconsin and all transfer students must apply to the appropriate department from their home state.
In-State Tuition for All Students
In-state tuition rate is available for all students. MSUM waives the non-resident portion of tuition for U.S. non-resident students from non-reciprocity states.
Dragon ID Number
You received your Dragon ID number in your MSU Moorhead acceptance packet. It is important for you to remember this number as you will use it often while at MSU Moorhead, including filling out your housing application.
