Welcome to the New Faculty Information and
Orientation Site!
Inevitably there are many, many things we all want to tell you during the brief time we have together during orientation. In the past, various offices have prepared extensive handouts, knowing that during the upcoming year, you will need to refer to them – sometime.
If you are at all like me, though, you will not have time to read everything as you prepare for new students, new classes, new colleagues, and a new campus. You will want accurate information and appropriate University contacts when situations present themselves, and probably will prefer not to sort though months of accumulated material in your office to find that orientation folder.
So, as so often happens in academic affairs, the talented and genuinely helpful people in the Office of Academic Affairs created the New Faculty Website. It anticipates your probable questions, is organized based on experience gained over the years responding to questions from new faculty members, and has numerous important links to other University websites.
I encourage you to take a little time to see what is there. Questions are always welcome and suggestions for improvement are appreciated.
