Gathers and monitors AOD data at MSUM (e.g. CORE survey and/or other data gathering instruments). Analyzes student AOD data and impact on academic success. Prepares the biennial University report for compliance with the 1989 amendments to the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act as articulated in Part 86 of the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations. Description: Monitors existing diversity efforts and the status of the University with regard to diversity objectives; monitors and updates the Racial and Ethnic Diversity Plan; evaluates events and programs to determine how well they meet MSUM’s diversity goals; and develops a method for awarding and disbursing Diversity Events funds. When appropriate, recommends to the President that a Diversity Task Force be formed to develop the next Racial and Ethnic Diversity Plan. Advises the President regarding affirmative action/equal opportunity matters, reports problem areas and recommends needed corrective action, and serves as a channel to communicating affirmative action/equal opportunity concerns to MSUM administration. The chairperson is responsible for requesting the Office of the President for time during an academic year Administrative Council meeting to permit the Athletic Department Compliance Officer to present the Title IX in athletics annual report. Description: Oversees the Dragon Core component of the curriculum. Revises and recommends courses for Dragon Core Designation. Receives assessment data from the Dragon Core Assessment process. Description:
Conducts assessment of Dragon Core,
the university’s general education curriculum. Gathers assessment
data from instructors teaching Dragon Core courses (as specified by
the Dragon Core assessment reporting cycle), analyzes the data
collected, and makes recommendations regarding the curriculum’s
success in achieving Student Outcomes. The Dragon Core Assessment
Committee (DCAC) may consult with ad hoc working groups composed of
faculty with specialized training in each of the Competency Areas.
The working groups would gather and process raw data and report to
the DCAC. At the end of each academic year, the DCAC sends a report
to the Dragon Core Committee and Vice-President for Academic
Affairs. |

They will evaluate previous summer sessions based partially on quantitative and qualitative surveys given to a random sample of students and faculty. They will make recommendations to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for future summer sessions on the number of courses offered, the schedule of classes, seminars, or workshops, and credit limits for students and faculty based on the above mentioned surveys. They will advise the President on moving to an incentive structure for both the university and the departments. Description: The Committee will serve as an advisory board for the University Writing Director, supporting that person in establishing and maintaining a writing-across-the-curriculum program. In addition, it will review course proposals for applicants seeking Writing Intensive (WI) designation for those courses before the proposals are presented to APAC. If the proposal also seeks Dragon Core designation, the course proposal goes to the University Writing (UW) Committee before going to the Dragon Core Committee. The UW Committee will support the Dragon Core Assessment Committee in maintaining the quality of Writing-Intensive courses.
