Student Affairs Committee.  A committee, a majority of whom are students, that considers areas and activities of primary importance to students and makes recommendations to the President or his/her designee.  These committees are appointed by the President or his/her designee in consultation with the MSU Moorhead Student Senate.

Bookstore Committee  (10)

 Reports to:  Vice President for Student Affairs

Description:  Makes recommendations for product mix, use of profits and review of revenue/expenses in Bookstore.  Advise on Bookstore policies such as buyback process, reservations, recommendations related to services offered and their feasibility.

Comstock Union Committee (CUC)   (9)

Reports to:  Vice President of Student Affairs

Description:  Develops and reviews plans, budget recommendations, and policies for the operation and use of Comstock Memorial Union.  This committee serves as a student body resource group.

Health and Wellness Student Advisory     (8)

Description:  This committee is recognized by the Hendrix Health Center and the Dragon Wellness Center as the student voice in matters regarding health and wellness services and programming.  Contributes to the development of long and short-term goals; budget review; and evaluation and recommendations of services and programming.

Student Activities Budget Committee (SABC) (15)

Reports to:  Vice President for Student Affairs

Description:  Coordinates the development of student activity budgets, reviews requests from students and student organizations throughout the academic year for funding related to student activities and makes recommendations to the University President regarding allocations.  In addition, SABC allocates money for student organizations, a small number of non-student organizations and administrative support for student activity fee funded areas each year during the budget allocation process.  Annually recommends level of funding and fee for SABC.  Monitors SABC reserves, expenditures and income of entities that receive SABC funds.

Student Activity Fee Review Committee     (15)

Reports to:  Vice President for Student Affairs

Description:  Recommend to the President and Student Senate an amount for the combined student activity fee for the upcoming year.  This committee will review information about the history of fees on the MSUM campus, compare MSUM's fee to other universities, analyze the impact of future enrollments, and consider current, past and future budgets of the areas receiving an allocation of student money in developing a recommendation.

Membership (Non-voting):  Vice President for Student Affairs (Chairperson), SABC Chair, Director of CMU and Activities, Director of Health and Wellness Center, Director of Athletics, University Business Manager, Student Activities Account Officer Intermediate.

Student Organization Advisory Committee (SOAC) (11)

Reports to:  Vice President for Student Affairs

Description:  Represents the needs and concerns of students involved in student organizations and activities and assists in policy definition and administrative action.  Monitors student organizations and makes recommendations regarding student organizations.  Holds hearings on violations of University rules and policy by student organizations and makes recommendations to the Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizations.  Responsible for Student Leader of the Month Award and Student Organization Awards Banquet.
