Student Affairs Committee. A committee, a majority of whom are students, that considers areas and activities of primary importance to students and makes recommendations to the President or his/her designee. These committees are appointed by the President or his/her designee in consultation with the MSU Moorhead Student Senate.
Reports to: Vice President for Student Affairs Description: Makes recommendations for product mix, use of profits and review of revenue/expenses in Bookstore. Advise on Bookstore policies such as buyback process, reservations, recommendations related to services offered and their feasibility. Membership: University Bookstore Coordinator (ex-officio, non-voting) (Chairperson), Vice President for Student Affairs (ex-officio), 2 faculty, 1 MSUAASF, 5 students. Membership: Kim *Samson University Bookstore Coordinator (ex-officio, non-voting) Juan Cabanela IFO, Physics Ben Clapp IFO, Business Administration Ashley Griffin Student Reports to: Vice President of Student Affairs Description: Develops and reviews plans, budget recommendations, and policies for the operation and use of Comstock Memorial Union. This committee serves as a student body resource group. Membership: Director of Comstock Memorial Union (ex-officio), 1 student from Campus Activities Board, 1 Student Senate, 1 student employee from Comstock Memorial Union, 4 students at large. (Only 2 students from each area will be allowed to serve on this committee unless consent for more is given by the other areas) Chairperson to be elected. Membership: Karen *Mehnert-Meland Director of Comstock Memorial Union (ex-officio) Stephanie Dassinger CMU Student Representative Dane Jenson Student Chris Paul Student Reports to: Vice President for Student Affairs Description: This committee is recognized by the Hendrix Health Center and the Dragon Wellness Center as the student voice in matters regarding health and wellness services and programming. Contributes to the development of long and short-term goals; budget review; and evaluation and recommendations of services and programming. Membership: Director of Health and Wellness (ex-officio) (Chairperson), 1 Student Senate, 3 Peer Educators, 3 Wellness Center student employees, 1 Health Center Honors Apprentice, 3 students. Membership: Faith *Rieger Interim Director of Hendrix Health Center (ex-officio) Melissa Walter Peer Health Educator Reports to: Vice President for Student Affairs Description: Coordinates the development of student activity budgets, reviews requests from students and student organizations throughout the academic year for funding related to student activities and makes recommendations to the University President regarding allocations. In addition, SABC allocates money for student organizations, a small number of non-student organizations and administrative support for student activity fee funded areas each year during the budget allocation process. Annually recommends level of funding and fee for SABC. Monitors SABC reserves, expenditures and income of entities that receive SABC funds. Membership: Student Activity Budget Committee Chair, Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, 1 MSUAASF, Student Senate President, Student Senate Treasurer, Student Senate Vice President (ex-officio, non-voting), University Business Manager (ex-officio, non-voting), Activities Business Manager (ex-officio, non-voting), 6 students. Membership: Angela *Boser Assistant Director of Activities and Organizations Abner Arauza MSUAASF Dan Kirk Vice President for Facilities & Administrative Affairs Mark Rice Business Office Manager ex-officio (non-voting) Sandra Schob Activities Business Manager,ex-officio (non-voting) Justin Dornbusch Student Reports to: Vice President for Student Affairs Description: Recommend to the President and Student Senate an amount for the combined student activity fee for the upcoming year. This committee will review information about the history of fees on the MSUM campus, compare MSUM's fee to other universities, analyze the impact of future enrollments, and consider current, past and future budgets of the areas receiving an allocation of student money in developing a recommendation. Membership (Non-voting): Vice President for Student Affairs (Chairperson), SABC Chair, Director of CMU and Activities, Director of Health and Wellness Center, Director of Athletics, University Business Manager, Student Activities Account Officer Intermediate. Membership (Voting): 1 student from SABC, 1 student from Comstock Union Committee (CUC), 1 student from Health and Wellness Student Advisory Committee, 1 student from Athletic Advisory Board, 3 Student Senators (Student Senate president and two students or one executive member and Chair of Tuition and Fees Oversight committee (TFOC) recommended.
