and Beth Dille Fund for Excellence The Roland and Beth Dille Fund for Excellence Committee announces the 2004-2005 grant recipients. More than $33,000 was requested in 18 applications. The committee awarded $10,500 to fully support the following: · Nancy Paul, Speech Language Hearing Sciences, received $500 “Service Learning: Applications in area long-term care and assisted living facilities” · Laurie Blunsom Women's Studies $1,000 for “Women's history month film festival” · Jarilyn K. Gess, EHS and New Center, received $1,000 for “NCATE: Celebrating 50 years” · Ananda Shastri, Physics and Astronomy, and Brent Colby, MeritCare Health System, received $1,600 for “MSUM physics majors explore the science of digital X-Ray imaging” · Linda Fuselier, Biology, received $ 2,000 for “Sex ratios and sexual dimorphism in a migratory dragonfly, the common green darner” · Kirk D. Moss and Nathan Davis, Music, received $1,760 for “MSUM string project” · Steve Lindaas, Physics, Allison Wallace, Biology, and Shawn Dunkirk, Chemistry, received $1,440 for “Science students in the middle: Involving undergraduates in science education research” · Teri Walseth, Lynn Mahlum and Renee Kerzman, Field Experiences, received $1,200 for “Future teacher program” The Dille Fund for Excellence is a permanent endowment established in 1994 by the MSUM Alumni Foundation through the generosity of MSUM Alumni and Friends to honor the university’s former president, Roland Dille and his wife, Beth. |
