What is PSEO? |
|
|
PSEO is a program established by the Minnesota Legislature that allows high school juniors and seniors to complete some high school requirements by taking courses at participating Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. Students in public, non-public, home school, and tribal schools may enroll. Visit the MN Department of Education for information. |

What classes and activities can I take part in? |
|
|
Visit with your high school
counselor to determine what kind of courses you need to complete
your requirements for your diploma. After those requirements
are met, you can take electives in areas of interest to you.
The
legislature established
this program on a "space-available" basis. This means you will
register after regularly admitted students, so you may not
always get your first choice. Developmental, as well as some
upper-division and major-specific classes are not available to
PSEO students. All other MSUM activities are open to PSEO
students, with the exception of inter-collegiate athletics. You
can also continue to participate in your high school's
extra-curricular activities if you prefer. |

What will it cost? |

Your tuition, fees, and books are paid for by the state of Minnesota. You are responsible for paying additional fees in courses such as music lessions, and for any consumable supplies. Transportation, room, and board fees are your responsibility. Residence hall housing is available to PSEO students enrolled at MSUM and MSCTC.

Count me in! How do I apply? |
![]() |
|
An application form is available at the following link: Application. Fill it out and send it to the office of Admissions at MSUM, along with official high school transcripts that indicate your course work and class rank. We strongly recommend that you send your PSEO application by June 10th for fall admission, and by October 10th for spring admission. While later applications can be processed, students should allow plenty of time to confer with their high school counselors and MSUM's advisors. Once accepted, we'll be in touch with you regarding registration and other details. PSEO can be a great experience! |
