Business, School of*

Changes to Accounting Major effective Fall 2008

  • Add MGMT 370:  Management Information Systems (3 crs) to the Business Core for accounting majors
  • Add ACCT 375:  Accounting Systems (3 crs) to the required courses for accounting majors
  • Move ACCT 431:  Non-profit Accounting (3 crs) to the electives for accounting majors

 

Remove ENGL 102:  Composition and Literature II (4 crs) from the School of Business Admission requirements effective Spring 2009

 

English Department*

Remove the following courses from the curriculum effective Fall 2007:

Languages and Cultures Department*

New Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) effective Fall 2007 Graduate Studies has approved this proposal.

 

Music Department*

Change requirements for all degrees:

  • Replace MUS 209: Survey of Non-Western Music (2 crs) with MUS 316: World Music Survey (3 credits)
  • Increase credits for core requirements from 28 to 30 credits (MUS 300 from 2 to 3 crs)

 

Change restricted electives (for relevant programs):

  • Replace MUS 343:  Jazz History (2 crs) with MUS 215:  History of Jazz (3 crs)
  • Replace MUS 342:  History of Rock/Pop Music (2 crs) with MUS 217:  Pop/Rock Music for Non-Majors (3 crs)
  • Increase credits for restricted electives (for relevant programs) from 2-3 credits to 3 credits

 

Changes to the B. S. in Music Education (Instrumental):  Total credits decreases from 136 to 129 credits

  • Eliminate two MUS 291–Individual Projects (1-credit each) courses from the degree.
  • Add a Choral Ensemble requirement (1-credit).

 

Changes to the B. S. Music Education (Vocal):  Total credits decreases from 136 to 129 credits

  • Eliminate one MUS 291–Individual Projects (1-credit) course from the degree.
  • Add an additional credit (1-credit) of Voice Performance Study.

 

Change title Bachelor of Music – Major in Music Performance, Option in Composition to Bachelor of Music – Major in Composition effective Fall 2007

 

Nursing Department*

Graduate Studies has approved these proposals.

  • Drop NURS 602:  Ethics of Health Care and Nursing (2 crs) from the Graduate Program requirements effective Fall 2007
  • Add NURS 608:  Transcultural and Social Perspectives (3 crs) to the Graduate Program requirements effective Fall 2007

·         Discontinue the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track as a specialty focus

·         Increase the total credits for the Adult Health CNS track from 39-41 to 44 credits.

·         No change in the total credits (36 crs) for the Nurse Educator track.

 

Religious Studies Minor*

Add courses to the elective options of the Religious Studies Minor (total credits will not change)
