Astronomy nights are sponsored by the Regional Science Center, the MSUM Physics and Astronomy Department and the Fargo-Moorhead Astronomy Club. Their primary purpose is to observe the sky. Visitors view the sky with the naked eye, binoculars, small telescopes and the Paul Feder Observatory's sixteen inch telescope. Other activities may include a public lecture, trail walks, movies, make and take activities and opportunities to chat with amateur astronomers. Astronomy nights are usually held at the Regional Science Center's Buffalo River Site.
