Special Education 2+2 Program

Minnesota State University Moorhead also offers a program of study in special education for students who have completed an Associate of Arts Degree/Minnesota Transfer Curriculum at Anoka Ramsey Community College.  These candidates may complete an additional 2 years of primarily online/hybrid coursework to complete a Bachelors of Science Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in specific learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, and/or emotional behavioral disorders.

• Special Education Degree leads to MN licensure in one or more of the following areas:
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Emotional/Behavior Disorder
  • Developmental Disabilities
   


• ARCC coursework that substitutes for requirements in the major: (should be taken during the first two years and applied to completion of AA degree of MN Transfer Curriculum where possible)

  • SOC 2207 Minority/Majority Relations
  • SPCH 1110 Introduction to Speech Communications
  • Math 1120 Mathematics for Elementary Teachers
  • PSYCH 1110 General Psychology
  • PSYCH 2235 Lifespan Development
  • PSYCH 2265 Educational Psychology
