    The music department at Minnesota State University Moorhead offers a variety of courses in the area of voice. Applied Voice lessons are offered at every level for students pursuing a music major or minor, or who are currently enrolled in an MSUM vocal ensemble. Weekly lessons include vocal study in Italian, German, French, Latin and the English repertoire along with weekly performance classes where a student has ample opportunity to perform. Vocal Pedagogy, Diction and Song Literature are a few of the courses that are offered in the area of vocal study.

    Dr. Jenny Dufault is a full Professor and has taught applied voice, voice class, vocal pedagogy, song literature, opera workshop, and opera literature at Minnesota State University Moorhead for over a decade. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Music from SUNY Potsdam--the Crane School of Music. She has also completed graduate work at both Boston University and Indiana University, and has taught at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and at Belvoir Terrace in Lenox, MA. Prior to coming to MSUM, she worked with children and children’s voices for over fifteen years: this included teaching music in the St. Paul Public Schools and in the public schools of Maynard, MA.
