The certificate will provide students with expertise in the field of Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE). The ECSE certificate is comprised of courses to address the characteristics, assessment needs, and intervention needs of young children with disabilities (birth through age 6). Courses related to the professional role of the ECSE teacher focus on family-based practices, due process requirements, consultation/collaboration processes, behavioral strategies and inclusive environments. This will be an online certificate program.
Required coursework may vary from student to student based on previous degree, teaching license(s) and coursework on transcript.
