There is never a shortage of things to do in Fargo-Moorhead. Set against the diverse four seasons, outdoor recreational activities range from biking, swimming, fishing, golfing, camping, canoeing and disc golf in the warm, summer months to ice fishing, cross-country skiing, sledding and ice hockey in the winter months. Area attractions like the Fargo Film Festival, the Fargo Blues Festival, the Plains Art Museum and the Fargo Air Museum are just a few of the exciting venues that keep Fargo-Moorhead interesting year-round.
An incredibly rich arts community offers a variety of cultural activities and events throughout the year with poetry slams, open mic nights, theaters, art galleries and ongoing performance opportunities. The Bluestem Center for the Arts, a multi-million dollar campus in Moorhead, is home to Trollwood Performing Arts School and special art events. For sporting events, the F-M area includes the Scheels Arena, a new state-of-the-art hockey arena that holds 5,000 people and hosts the Fargo Force, the local USHL team. In addition, the area also holds the FARGODOME and Newman Outdoor Field, home of the independent league Fargo RedHawks baseball team. Together, the three major colleges offer a host of social, cultural and athletic events on campus to entertain students as well as the surrounding community.
