The beginning stages of the wheels for the train

The talents of Ray Bjerke, Physical Plant machinist/welder and train builder extrordinaire, were enlisted. The first thing to do was to strip the Dragon Special and assess its mechanical adaptability to becoming a train. It did not take long to discover that retrofitting a 1957 Ford chassis into a train was not going to be easy. Lloyd Ness quickly convinced both Ray and Todd to look into other chassis types for adaptability.
